Endangered Species

Endangered Species
Concern for endangered species is on the rise.
Why is it important to protect species?
Healthy ecosystems depend on plant and animal species as their foundations. If a species is endangered that indicates that an ecosystem is slowly falling apart. Humans NEED healthy ecosystems, we depend on them for purity of the environment. Without healthy ecosystems we won’t have access to clean, air, and water. If we don’t work to protect endangered species, it will pose a threat to humans. Plants and other natural products is what most medicine is derived from. We need to protect plants at all costs so that we can continue to use have access to medicine. There are plenty of plants that we are not aware of. Millions of people die each year from unknown illnesses with no cure, possibly plants we have not discovered can lead us to a cure.
